Grace Petrie’s ‘Storm To Weather’ is a lyrically driven folk tune that oozes personality. The track, which is structured around bouncy acoustic guitar chords and interjections from an impressively melodic fiddle, focuses on isolation of various kinds. “In a time so marked by loneliness and uncertainty, I found enormous comfort in singing this chorus, especially the lockdown mantra: “We will dance again next year”.” Her way of combining strong political commentary with effortless melody feels connected to the likes of Frank Turner.
